Level 1 technicians are capable of performing a full
range of Rope Access techniques on site under the supervision
of a Rope Access Safety
Supervisor.
The IRATA Level 1 technician will be responsible for
the maintenance and examination of personal Rope Access
equipment and will assist the Supervisor in rigging
and rescue. A 'Level 1' should be capable of executing
simple rescue scenarios following a brief from the Supervisor.
Current legislation, company access and safety procedures
are included in the course.
The course includes both continual assessment and final
examination by an independent IRATA appointed assessor.
On successful completion, the student will be authorised
to operate supervised in an Industrial environment.
