FALL ARREST HARNESS TRAINING & SPECIALIST WORKING AT HEIGHT COURSES

Fall arrest, roof top safety and harness training courses can be designed specifically for your work sites. Our consultants can carry out on-sight evaluations of your methods and needs.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Dragon training courses cover all forms of working at height ( many CITB grant approved) - from fall arrest and work positioning to roof top safety and roped access; Through our commitment to quality training we provide clients with a knowledge of techniques and equipment to allow personnel to operate safely in their working environment.

TRAINING PROGRAM

The tutors are experienced trainers with 10 years of safety training The course is aimed at operatives who are suitable to carry out industrial work in exposed high situations. Throughout the course, aptitude and safety awareness is monitored.

MODULES

UNIT ONE MUST BE COMPLETED PLUS ONE OTHER UNIT TO GAIN APPROVAL AND CERTIFICATION FOR HARNESS USERS.

UNIT 1

a) Full Body Harness (EN 361) foundation course. Includes selection, use and checking of harness and associated equipment

UNIT 2, 3, 4 & 5

Can be chosen individually or combined to give site specific training

UNIT 2

Use of various (EN 354)Lanyards and (EN 362) Connectors to provide secure attachment to pre-installed (EN 795) Anchor devices.

UNIT 3

Use of (EN 354)Lanyards and (EN 362) Connectors to provide secure attachment to structural anchors.

UNIT 4

Use of Lanyards and connectors to provide secure attachment to temporary structures. Unit 5 This course will cover: - access to and work on flat roofs - use of fixed hooped ladders - use of portable ladders - work within 2m of an unprotected edge - use of Personal Protective Equipment including fall arrest and work restraint equipment.

UNIT 6

Recovery/Rescue of suspended persons. Using the 'NEW' Rescue Genie the simplest and most practical recovery system developed yet. An essential recovery tool for any harness users working at height. At Dragon we have seen a huge variety of systems from a range of manufacturers and believe the 'Rescue Genie' to be the best

Regulation 9 (1) of the "Personal protective equipment at work regulations 1992" states that: (1) Where an employer is required to ensure that personal protective equipment is provided to an employee, the employer shall also ensure that the employee is provided with such information, instruction and training as is adequate and appropriate to enable the employee to know- (2) (a ) the risk or risks which the Personal protective equipment will avoid or limit; ( b ) The purpose for which and the manner in which personal protective equipment is to be used; and ( c )Any action to be taken by the employee to ensure that the personal protective equipment remains in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair as required by regulation 7 (1).
